Krakin Automotive: a Molendinar workshop, the city search and the suburb search
Krakin Automotive services and repairs cars and does 4WD suspension and upgrades from Kamholtz Court, Molendinar. We checked two searches for it on 14 October 2026. For the city-wide “mechanic Gold Coast” it was not in the top ten. For “mechanic Molendinar” its site ranked fifth. The gap between those two results is the most useful lesson in local search for any workshop.
Two searches, two different contests
“Mechanic Gold Coast” is a city-wide head term. Its results were mobile mechanics, a Gold Coast service centre, an AutoGuru comparison page and well-reviewed workshops in Southport and Ashmore. A single workshop in Molendinar competes there against the whole city.
“Mechanic Molendinar” is the search that drivers near the workshop actually make. There, krakinautomotive.com.au ranked fifth organically, behind three other Gold Coast workshops and a Localsearch directory page. Suburb searches are winnable sooner, and they bring customers who are close enough to drop the car off.
What we built into the site
- 61 pages in the sitemap, covering servicing, logbook servicing, repairs, diagnostics, brakes, suspension, 4WD upgrades and 4WD suspension, air conditioning, cooling, batteries, pre-purchase inspections, gearbox and engine repairs, LS cam packages and wheels and tyres.
- Suburb pages for Molendinar, Nerang and the Gold Coast, matching the three areas in the structured data.
- Guides on buying a used car on the Gold Coast, suspension warning signs, logbook servicing and when to replace brake pads.
- Two numbers on the page, the workshop landline (07) 5526 9580 in the description and a mobile, both tap-to-call.
Results so far
10 enquiries came through the website’s forms between 22 September and 14 October 2026, not counting phone calls.
What moves the needle next
- Win the suburb first. Molendinar, then Nerang and Ashmore, before spending effort on the city-wide term.
- 4WD is the differentiator. 4WD suspension and LS cam packages are searches far fewer workshops target; reviews and photos of that work strengthen those pages.
- The map pack for Molendinar was not showing the business when we checked. A complete Google profile with the workshop category, services and regular photos is the next step. See Google Business Profile management.
