Signmakers Gold Coast: a 1979 sign company competing on Google today

Signmakers Gold Coast is a family-owned signage company established in 1979, designing, manufacturing and installing in house at Burleigh Heads for South East Queensland and Northern NSW. Signage buyers are businesses, and they search by sign type. The site we built has a page for each, and it has produced 22 form enquiries since early September.

Who searches for signs, and how

A sign is a business purchase, often tied to a fit-out, a new lease or a fleet. Buyers search by what they need: shopfront signage, illuminated signs, pylon signs, vehicle signage, window graphics. Builders and property managers search for architectural and property signage. Each is a different buyer with a different budget.

“Signs Gold Coast” is the broad search, but it is the specific searches that bring the enquiries that turn into jobs.

What Google showed on 14 October 2026

For “signs Gold Coast”, the map pack showed signwriters in Ashmore and Molendinar, including one with 92 reviews. The organic top five were all sign companies. Signmakers was outside the top ten for this broad search. A northern-coast map pack is partly about where the searcher is standing; a Burleigh Heads business competes more strongly for searches from the southern Gold Coast and Tweed.

What we built into the site

  • Ten sign-type pages, each with Gold Coast in the address: shopfront, illuminated, architectural, vehicle, pylon, commercial, property, window, custom and banner signage.
  • A projects page, under the line “Work you’ve driven past”, because the best proof for a sign company is signs people already know.
  • Structured data with a long areas-served list running from Burleigh Heads, Miami and Robina to Coolangatta, Tweed Heads and South East Queensland, plus the aggregate rating shown on the site.
  • History up front. The established date, 1979, is in the meta description; for commercial buyers, longevity is a reason to shortlist.
  • Two phone numbers as tap-to-call links, office and mobile.

Results so far

22 enquiries came through the website’s forms between 3 September and 14 October 2026. Phone calls and walk-ins are not included.

What moves the needle next

  • Project pages by sign type and suburb, such as an illuminated sign in Robina, which match how buyers search and show real local work.
  • Links from clients and builders. Businesses whose signs the company made, and builders it works with, are natural sources of links. Our local SEO work includes this.
  • More reviews from commercial customers, who rarely leave them without being asked.

Frequently asked questions

Should a sign company have a page for every sign type?

For every type you want to sell, yes. Buyers search by type, and each page can show the right examples, materials and process for that job.

Does where the searcher is standing change the map pack?

Yes. Google weighs distance from the searcher, so a Burleigh Heads business shows more often for searches from the southern Gold Coast than from Southport.
