Granville Auto Mechanic: two Granvilles, a similar name, and a place on page one

Two Granvilles

There is a Granville in Sydney and a Granville near Maryborough in Queensland. For “mechanic Granville”, Google mixed them: a Localsearch page for mechanics in Granville QLD and a Yellow Pages page for Granville QLD 4650 both appeared in the top five. Sydney searchers on their phones mostly get Sydney results, but the site should leave Google no doubt.

A similar name in the same suburb

The map pack was led by a business called Granville Automotive, with 382 reviews, then a mechanic with 414 reviews, then Granville Auto Mechanic. With names that close, customers can mix them up, and so can search engines. The site addresses this directly with a section titled “The real Granville Auto Mechanic”.

What we built into the site

• Service pages with Granville in the address: car service, logbook servicing, brakes, air conditioning, auto electrical, wheel alignment, and pink slip and blue slip inspections.
• Pink and blue slips explained, the New South Wales inspections people search for by name.
• The street address and both phone numbers in the description, and a booking form described as taking under a minute.
• A section on the brands serviced and one for drivers across Western Sydney.

Results so far

9 enquiries came through the website’s forms between 5 July and 14 October 2026, not counting phone calls.

What moves the needle next

• Granville NSW and Railway Parade everywhere: title, first paragraph, profile and structured data, to separate the business from both Granville QLD and the similarly named workshop.
• Reviews. The two businesses above it have 382 and 414. See our Google review system.
• Neighbouring suburb pages for Harris Park, Merrylands, Clyde and Parramatta.

Granville Auto is one of the Sydney businesses on our website design Sydney page.
