S.T.S.B Gardening: quote requests across the border in Albury–Wodonga
S.T.S.B Gardening Services does garden maintenance, lawn mowing, landscaping, rubbish and junk removal and furniture delivery across Albury–Wodonga, from Lavis Street in East Albury. Albury is in New South Wales and Wodonga is across the Murray River in Victoria, but residents treat them as one city. When we searched “gardening Albury” on 14 October 2026, the site ranked third, and it has brought in 20 quote requests since July.
One city, two states, two searches
People in Albury search “gardener Albury”; people in Wodonga search “gardener Wodonga”. Google treats them as separate places in separate states, so a business that works on both sides of the river needs to be clearly relevant to both. The site’s title, “Gardener Albury–Wodonga”, and its structured data, listing Albury, Wodonga, Thurgoona, Lavington, Jindera, East Albury and Springdale Heights, cover both.
What Google showed on 14 October 2026
There was a map pack of lawn care and garden businesses, with 11 to 24 reviews among those that had them. The organic results were a mowing business, Airtasker, stsbgardening.com.au third, Yellow Pages and a Jim’s Mowing franchise page. Franchises and marketplaces are common in regional lawn and garden searches.
What we built into the site
- Suburb pages on both sides of the border: gardener Albury, Wodonga, Thurgoona, Lavington and Jindera.
- Service pages: lawn mowing, hedge trimming, garden clean-ups and rubbish removal in Albury.
- A free, no-obligation assessment as the call to action, which suits a job that needs to be seen to be quoted.
- Two phone numbers as tap-to-call links and a portfolio of finished gardens.
Results so far
20 quote requests came through the website’s forms between 23 July and 14 October 2026, not counting phone calls. For a regional gardening business that is steady, useful work, and requests picked up in late September.
What moves the needle next
- A Google Business Profile with the service area set to both cities, so the business appears in the map pack on both sides of the border. See Google Business Profile management.
- Reviews. The pack businesses have 11 to 24; a handful of reviews would put S.T.S.B among them.
- Seasonal pages, such as spring clean-ups and autumn leaf clearing, which match how demand moves through the year.
S.T.S.B is one of the businesses on our website design Sydney and NSW page.
Frequently asked questions
How should a business that works across a state border set up its site?
Name both cities in the title and profile, and give each side its own pages. Google treats them as separate places even when locals do not.
Is it worth a gardener competing with franchises in search?
Yes. Franchise pages are generic; a local business with suburb pages, real photos and reviews is often the better match for a specific suburb.
