The Blend Boss: a Spearwood barbershop on page one, and the map pack still to win
The Blend Boss Barber Shop in Spearwood, south of Fremantle, does skin fades, haircuts, beard work and kids cuts, with walk-ins welcome seven days. When we searched “barber Spearwood” on 14 October 2026, its site ranked third organically. Google did not show a map pack for that search, which is unusual for barbers and worth understanding.
Page one without a map pack
The organic results were a Spearwood shopping centre’s barber page first, a Fresha page of barbers in Spearwood second, then theblendbossbarbershop.com.au third, a Yelp page and a barber’s Instagram. With no map pack, the website and the directory pages are what people see.
Map packs come and go with how Google reads the search and the strength of local profiles. For walk-in barbers, the profile is still where most “barber near me” searches end, so it needs to be ready.
What the site does
- A title built on the suburb and the offer: premium barbering in Spearwood WA, with walk-ins welcome seven days and the phone number in the description.
- Sections on the standard of work, “The work speaks” gallery, local reviews and an FAQ.
- A “Find the chair” section with the location, for people walking in.
What moves the needle next
- A complete Google profile with the barber shop category, hours that show walk-ins seven days, and fresh photos of cuts. See Google Business Profile management.
- Reviews from every chair, so when a pack shows for Spearwood, the shop is in it.
- Service pages for fades and beard work, and nearby suburb mentions such as Coogee, Hamilton Hill and Bibra Lake, to widen the searches the site answers.

Frequently asked questions
Why does Google sometimes not show a map for “barber” searches?
Google decides per search whether local listings are the best answer. It can change as profiles in the area grow, so the profile should be complete either way.
Do walk-in barbers need online booking?
Not necessarily, but they need hours that are always accurate on Google, because walk-in customers check “open now” before leaving home.
